Are You a Student Seeking a Co-op or Intern Placement?
We'd love to connect with you.
L'Arche is a place where passion meets purpose. The mandate of L’Arche creates opportunities for students to share their gifts with us, while growing and learning about the gifts in others. We welcome students from a variety of career paths and schools to complete their placements with us.
Some intern placements are paid Co-ops from University of Waterloo and University of Guelph while others are unpaid placements, but considered course-credits. We’ve welcomed many unpaid placement students from McMaster University, Mohawk College, Wilfred Laurier University, Redeemer University and more. Students come from a variety of programs including Recreation Therapy, Music, Health and Wellness, Business, Nursing and Social Work.
We also welcome high school students to complete community hours in courses such as Leadership and to complete required graduation community service hours. Students can work one on one with a Core Member to attain a personal goal, develop and facilitate recreational or fitness programs, suggest business plans and more! No matter the academia focus, there is always an awareness on relationship where the student often develops lasting relationships with Core Members, assistants and the community. We’ve have some wonderful experiences with students, many whom continue to be a part of the community beyond their placement. What a wonderful gift students are to our community!
